Ilegal Mezcal Joven 375ml

Ilegal Mezcal Joven is an unaged mezcal made from Espadin agave in the Santiago Matatlan valley of Oaxaca, Mexico. The agave is roasted in underground ovens, crushed with a horse-drawn tahona, fermented with wild airborne yeast and double distilled in small copper stills.

Expect eucalyptus and minerals on the nose, then green apple and fresh citrus with a light, sweet smoke. It is bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof).

Sip it neat or mix it into a mezcal margarita or Paloma. 375 mL.
