Tequila Ocho Añejo Aged in Old Fitzgerald Bourbon Barrels is a collaboration between Tequila Ocho, known as the world's original single-estate tequila, and Old Fitzgerald, the wheated bourbon brand made by Heaven Hill Distillery in Kentucky. The tequila starts with overripe, single-estate agave grown on family-farmed land in the Jalisco highlands, then spends 12 months resting in freshly emptied Old Fitzgerald barrels shipped in from Kentucky. That barrel time carries over some of the wheated bourbon's caramel and toasted oak character while keeping the agave flavor at the center, and the añejo is bottled at 96 proof (48% ABV). It's a good pick for tequila drinkers curious about barrel-finished expressions, or for bourbon fans looking for a tequila with a familiar oak-driven backbone.
