Sagamore Spirit Rum Cask Finish Rye Reserve Series 6 year 750 ml

Sagamore Spirit's Rum Cask Finish is a limited release from the distillery's Reserve Series, which celebrates the legacy of Maryland distilling. The distillery takes its straight rye whiskey and gives it an extra 10 months in hand-selected rum barrels from Jamaica and South America before blending the two lots together.

The Jamaican rum barrels bring ripe banana and bright pineapple, while the South American barrels add rich vanilla and brûléed sugar. Sagamore's own tasting notes list demerara sugar, passion fruit, spiced pineapple, peanut brittle and cinnamon bark, closing on a peppery rye finish. At 98 proof it has the weight to stand up neat, over a large cube, or in a tropical-leaning Old Fashioned.

Sagamore Spirit makes its whiskey at a waterfront distillery in Baltimore, Maryland, and this Reserve Series bottling was a limited release.
