Description
This single barrel McCarthy's Oregon Single Malt comes from Hood River Distillers. McCarthy's is made from peat-malted two-row barley from Scotland and distilled in Holstein pot stills. For this release, new-make spirit went straight into Casa Magdalena rum casks from Guatemala and aged there for six years, rather than being finished in them. It is bottled at cask strength.
Expect the brand's earthy, smoky malt with sugarcane, vanilla and oak from the rum casks.
Sip it neat or with a few drops of water. 750 mL.
