Balcones Single Malt Rum Cask Finished 750 ml

Balcones Rum Cask Finished is a cask-strength Texas single malt from Balcones Distilling in Waco. After a few small batches of Balcones Texas Rum, the distillery refilled the same casks with its Texas single malt, combining its rum and whisky making. It is bottled non-chill filtered at cask strength (proof varies by batch, often around 120 proof) and released once a year.

Caramelized sugar, cherry cola, banana bread, sassafras, pistachio, peanut brittle, and peach cobbler on the nose. The palate is big and full-bodied with tropical fruit, molasses, sweet black tea, and gingerbread, and the finish is dry and long, with cinnamon, burnt sugar, and heavy oak.
