Southern Comfort Original 750 ml

Southern Comfort was created in 1874 by M.W. Heron, a New Orleans bartender who blended whiskey with fruit and spice to smooth out the spirits of his day. Now made by the Sazerac Company, Southern Comfort Original is an American whiskey liqueur that keeps whiskey as its base, true to Heron's original idea.

The flavor is soft and fruity with warm spice, drawing on the kind of ingredients Heron's early recipe called for, such as citrus, cherry, vanilla, cinnamon and clove, with a gentle sweetness. At 70 proof it is mellow and easy to sip, whether poured over ice or served neat as an after-dinner drink.

It is also one of the most mixable bottles on the back bar. Stir it with lime and cola, shake it into a Scarlett O'Hara with cranberry and lime, or add a splash to hot cider or punch. A true New Orleans original with more than a century of history behind it.
