El Jolgorio Barril 750ml

El Jolgorio Barril is a mezcal made by maestro mezcalero Pablo Vásquez García in Agua del Espino, La Compañía Ejutla, Oaxaca. It uses Barril, a short, squat subvariety of Agave karwinskii, matured at least 13 years before harvest.

The agave is cooked in an earthen pit oven, crushed by stone tahona, fermented in open-air wooden vats and distilled twice in copper pot stills. It is bottled at 48.6% ABV. Expect jicama, roasted parsnip, black pepper and pine resin.

Sip it neat at room temperature. 750 mL.
