Amaro Nonino Quintessentia Riserva 750ml

Amaro Nonino Quintessentia Riserva is the aged expression of Nonino's Amaro from Grappa Nonino in Percoto, in Italy's Friuli Venezia Giulia region. It is made from a quintessence of herbs, spices, fruit, berries, and roots, blended with ÙE Nonino grape distillate that has itself aged at least 12 months, and the complete amaro is then aged more than 24 months in oak barriques and small casks. The riserva was created in memory of Antonio Nonino, whose original amaro recipe was kept in small wooden casks. Bottled at 70 proof (35% ABV).

A golden amaro with a nose of aromatic herbs, vanilla, raisins, and flambéed orange, with balsamic notes balancing the bitterness of rhubarb. The palate follows with herbal notes and the character of barrel-aged grappa, and the finish adds chamomile, gentian, and warming spice. Serve at room temperature in a balloon glass after a meal, or use it in a Paper Plane or Black Manhattan.
