The Lost Explorer Espadin 8 year 750 ml

The Lost Explorer Espadín Mezcal is made from 100% Espadín agave grown for eight years in San Pablo Huixtepec, Oaxaca, well past the 5 to 8 year maturity window most producers use. The agave is roasted underground in a conical pit for three days, crushed, wild fermented, and double distilled in copper stills by Maestro Mezcalero Don Fortino Ramos, co-founded by David de Rothschild and Thor Björgólfsson. Bottled at 84 proof (42% ABV).

Fresh herbs and a whiff of woodsmoke on the nose, with a sweet, herbaceous palate of chopped agave, red apple, and ripe fruit, finishing well-balanced and mildly smoky. Sip it neat from a clay copita, or use it in a Mezcal Mule or Paloma.
