Pluma Negra Tobala 750 ml

Pluma Negra Tobala is a mezcal made from wild Tobala agave (Agave potatorum) by mezcalero Rodolfo Hernández Aguilar in San Juan del Río, Oaxaca. The agave is roasted in an underground oven, crushed with a horse-drawn tahona, fermented with wild yeast in open-air pine vats, and double distilled in copper pot stills. It is bottled at 104 proof (52% ABV).

The producer describes delicate aromas of chocolate, plum, and a touch of tobacco, followed by sweet pineapple, mango, and light notes of peppermint and cinnamon. Best sipped neat.
