Green Spot Chateau Montelena Irish Whiskey 750 ml

Green Spot Château Montelena is a single pot still Irish whiskey from Midleton Distillery in County Cork, released under the Green Spot label that Dublin wine merchant Mitchell & Son has shared with Irish Distillers for generations. The "Spot" name comes from the colored marks Mitchell & Son once painted on cask ends to show a whiskey's age.

After maturing in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, the whiskey is finished for one year in French oak casks that previously held Zinfandel from Château Montelena in Napa Valley, California. The nose shows golden syrup, vanilla and toffee, then red apple, stewed pear and dried cherries. The palate brings toffee and caramel into chocolate, crisp fruit, cinnamon and gingerbread, with a long, drying finish of baking spice and pepper.
