Glendalough Distillery Double Barrel Irish Limited Edition Oak 750 ml

Glendalough Double Barrel comes from Glendalough Distillery in County Wicklow, one of the craft producers behind Ireland's whiskey revival. It is a single grain Irish whiskey that begins its maturation in flame-charred ex-bourbon American oak, then moves into Spanish Oloroso sherry casks sourced from the Montilla region for its finish.

The distillery describes a nose rich with dark fruit, cherry, raisin, fig and Christmas pudding, lifted by lemongrass, citrus and a touch of nutmeg. The palate is sweet and smooth with butterscotch, honey, peppercorn, maraschino cherry and brown sugar, and the finish brings ginger spice, almond and an earthy note.

It has collected a string of medals, including Gold at the 2024 Irish Whiskey Awards and Gold at the 2024 New York International Spirits Competition. Pour it neat or use it for a richer take on an Irish whiskey highball.
