Woody Creek Colorado Straight Bourbon 750 ml

Woody Creek Distillers sits in Basalt, Colorado, in the heart of the Roaring Fork Valley, where founders Mark Kleckner and Patrick and Mary Scanlan set out in 2012 to make spirits from Colorado-grown grain. Actor William H. Macy later joined as a partner, but the whiskey is what earns the attention.

This Colorado Straight Bourbon is made from a mash of 70% dent corn, 15% Elbon rye and 15% malted barley, and bottled at 90 proof. Expect a grain-forward, easygoing profile: hay, vanilla, brown sugar and sweet cream on the nose, then fresh grain, honey and toasted oak on the palate, closing with a light touch of rye spice.

Its bright, approachable character makes it a natural for an Old Fashioned or a highball, and it is just as easy to sip neat after a day in the mountains.
