Sazerac Rye Whiskey 200 ml

Sazerac Rye is named for the Sazerac Coffee House in New Orleans, where rye whiskey shipped down the Mississippi became the base of the Sazerac cocktail, considered one of the first true American cocktails. Today it is made at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Kentucky.

The whiskey is distilled from a rye-forward mash and aged in new charred American oak. Buffalo Trace describes bold rye spice balanced with vanilla, clove and subtle citrus, with oak, leather and molasses underneath. Tasters on distiller.com also note cherry and sweet vanilla. At 90 proof it mixes easily, and it's the obvious choice for a Sazerac or Manhattan. This 200ml size is handy for trying it or making a few cocktails.
