Old Soul Small Batch Straight Bourbon 750 ML

Old Soul comes from Cathead Distillery in Jackson, Mississippi. Founded in 2010 by Austin Evans and Richard Patrick, Cathead was the state's first legal distillery, and its name comes from a blues term for a respected musician. Old Soul is its straight bourbon line.

Each small batch blends two high-rye bourbons of different ages, one distilled in Indiana and one in Mississippi, and the barrels are chosen by nose and palate. Cathead ages the whiskey at its Jackson facility. For the 2021 release, the team described dried fruit, cocoa and toffee on the nose, vanilla, nutty toffee and banana nut muffin on the palate, and a finish of rye spice and leather.

At 90 proof it works neat and has enough backbone for an Old Fashioned.
