Description
Founded in 1715 by Jean Martell on the Charente River, Martell is one of the oldest of the great Cognac houses. Martell V.S. Single Distillery takes an idea from single malt whisky: every eau-de-vie in the blend comes from a single distillery.
The spirit is double distilled in traditional Charentais pot stills from Ugni Blanc grapes and aged in fine-grain oak casks. The house describes rich fruit and spice with fresh citrus, pear and saffron on the nose, followed by wood and spice, a pleasant freshness and a velvety texture on the palate.
It is a versatile cognac that works in a Sidecar or with tonic, or neat when you want something easy.
