Hendrick's Gin 750 ml

Hendrick's helped kick off the modern gin revival when William Grant & Sons launched it in 1999. It is made at the Girvan distillery in Scotland by blending spirits from two very different stills, a rare 1860 Bennett pot still and a 1948 Carter-Head still, then infusing the result with essences of Bulgarian rose and cucumber.

Alongside juniper, the recipe draws on botanicals including coriander, caraway, elderflower, chamomile, orange and lemon peel, cubeb pepper, angelica and orris root. The effect is floral and cool, with soft citrus and a crisp, refreshing finish rather than a heavy piney bite.

Serve it the house way: a Hendrick's and tonic over plenty of ice, garnished with a thin slice of cucumber instead of lime. It also shines in a Gimlet, a Southside or a delicate Martini.
