Full Proof 1792 Barrel Select SGWS 750ml

This 1792 Full Proof Barrel Select is a private barrel selection of 1792 Full Proof, a Kentucky straight bourbon from the Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown. Full Proof is bottled at its original barrel-entry proof of 125 (62.5% ABV), which is where the name comes from, and skips chill filtration, passing only through a plate-and-frame filter. It is a high-rye bourbon from a mash bill Barton describes as high in rye, and it has no age statement (an earlier release was reported as about 8.5 years). As a barrel selection, expect some variation from bottle to bottle.

Barton's notes describe a bold, deep, slightly smoky bourbon balanced by sweet vanilla and caramel. Reviewers also note caramel, toffee, orchard fruit, and toasted oak. Sip it neat, with a few drops of water, or over a large ice cube.
