Foursquare Fine Barbados Exceptional Cask Selection Mark XXIV 2011 12 year 750 ML

Foursquare's Exceptional Cask Selection is the Barbados distillery's showcase series, and each numbered Mark captures a single, carefully chosen vintage. Mark XXIV was distilled in 2011, aged 12 years in ex-bourbon casks and bottled in 2024 at a full 60% ABV.

That long rest in the Caribbean heat builds serious depth. The nose opens with caramel, grapefruit and exotic fruit layered over oak and vanilla. The palate is rich and buttery, with caramel, cacao and molasses and a faint salinity, before a dry, spicy finish that keeps echoing fruit, vanilla and oak.

This is a rum for sipping and comparing alongside fine whisky. Pour it neat, then add a few drops of water to open up more fruit and spice as it breathes.
