Calumet Farm 10 Year Old Bourbon Whiskey 750mL

Calumet Farm takes its name from the famous Lexington horse farm, and its bourbons are built around a traditional high-rye mash bill. The 10 Year Old is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon made in small batches of about 50 barrels. It is bottled at 100 proof without chill filtration, so more of the oils and texture from a decade in oak stay in the glass.

The extra age shows up as a fuller, more robust version of the house style. Deep oak and caramel lead, backed by the peppery spice a high-rye recipe brings. The higher proof gives the whiskey weight and a long, warm finish.

Try it neat first, then add a few drops of water to bring out the sweeter side. It also makes a rich Old Fashioned. This is a good bottle for bourbon drinkers who like an age statement and a little more proof.
