Blackened Volume 1 Cask Strength 750 ml

Blackened Cask Strength Volume 1 is the first release in the cask strength series from Blackened, the whiskey brand co-founded by Metallica and the late master distiller Dave Pickerell. It is a blend of bourbons and ryes finished in black brandy casks using the brand's Black Noise process, which exposes the finishing barrels to low-frequency sound waves from Metallica's music. It is bottled non-chill filtered at cask strength, about 123 proof for Volume 1.

Dark fruit, black raspberry, vanilla, and toffee on the nose. The palate brings plum, dark cherry, baking spice, and vanilla custard, finishing with peppery spice, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Each volume is a unique batch, so proof and flavor vary from release to release.
