Martingale Cognac Batch 0002 375ml

Martingale is the first cognac released under the Thomas family's own name. Maison Thomas has grown grapes and distilled cognac for more than a century and spent most of that time supplying eaux-de-vie to well-known houses without credit. Fourth-generation cousins Guillaume and Amaury Thomas launched Martingale in 2023.

The blend brings together four crus (Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Fins Bois and a large share of Borderies). It is distilled without lees and blended without boisé, which gives it a fresher, drier style that the family says should appeal to whisky drinkers. The house notes describe spring flowers, acacia, light vanilla and fresh almonds on the nose, a rounded palate with light tannin and oak, and a lingering sandalwood finish.
