Description
Jeppson's Malört is a Chicago bäsk liqueur, a Swedish-style spirit flavored with wormwood, which is what malört means in Swedish. The recipe goes back to Swedish immigrant Carl Jeppson, and the brand dates to 1933. Since 2019 it has been made again in Chicago, by CH Distillery in Pilsen. It is bottled at 70 proof (35% ABV).
Expect intense wormwood bitterness with notes of thyme, saffron and a long, lingering finish.
Take it as a chilled shot, or use it sparingly in bitter cocktails. 750 mL.
