Hochstadter's Slow & Low Coffee Old-Fashioned 750ml

Hochstadter's Slow & Low Coffee Old-Fashioned is a bottled cocktail built on rye whiskey and Intelligentsia coffee, sweetened with raw honey and Demerara sugar and finished with Angostura bitters and orange peel. It is bottled at 80 proof and ready to pour over a big ice cube.

The recipe takes its cue from New Orleans' Café Brûlot, the flaming coffee-and-spirits tradition. Reviewers at The Daily Pour found plenty of coffee on the nose and palate, with cinnamon, anise, vanilla and a bit of orange peel, and praised it as a drier, spirit-forward take compared with sweeter ready-to-drink Old Fashioneds.

Serve it on the rocks with an orange twist, or pour a splash into after-dinner coffee.
