Castle & Key Rise Seasonal Gin 750 ml

Rise is the spring edition of Castle & Key's Roots of Ruin seasonal gin series, made at the distillery's restored home on McCracken Pike in Frankfort, Kentucky. Its base spirit is distilled from the same mash bill as Castle & Key's rye whiskey, giving the gin a rounder grain character and a peppery backbone.

The botanical recipe changes from year to year and leans bright, floral and herbal to match the season. The 2022 edition, for example, used juniper, tarragon, lemon peel, rose petal, green peppercorn, almond, green cardamom and licorice. It showed candied lemon peel, almond cookie and sweet rose on the nose, then pine, pepper, marzipan and savory herbs on the palate.

Rise is a natural fit for a French 75, a Tom Collins or a simple gin and soda with a lemon wheel.
