Bruichladdich Distillery Islay Bere Barley Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 2013 750 ML

Bruichladdich Bere Barley 2013 is an unpeated Islay single malt distilled in 2013 and matured for 10 years, made entirely from Bere barley, an ancient grain grown on Orkney by the Agronomy Institute of Orkney College (UHI). It was aged 80% in first-fill bourbon barrels and 20% in second-fill Pauillac wine casks, and is bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV).

Warm citrus, tropical fruit, and sweet malty flour on the nose; popcorn, brown sugar, and porridge on the palate with apricot, peach, and vanilla; milk chocolate, malted grain, and crème brûlée on the finish. Try it neat, then with a splash of water.
