2XO American Oak Kentucky Straight Bourbon 750ml

2XO American Oak is a Kentucky straight bourbon from blender Dixon Dedman, who previously revived the Kentucky Owl brand. "2XO" stands for "two times oak": Dedman takes bourbon aged about five to six years and adds extra charred oak, using long charred oak chains steeped in the barrels, to deepen the flavor. It's the first blend in his Oak Series, an everyday expression, made from a moderate-rye mash bill and bottled at 92 proof (46% ABV).

Sweet cream, caramel, honey, and toffee on the nose. The palate moves from rich caramel and toffee to savory roasted nuts, finishing with a lingering mild spice. Good neat, on the rocks, or in classic whiskey cocktails.
