Añejo tequila is aged in oak barrels of no more than 600 liters for at least one year and less than three. The extra time gives a darker color and deeper notes of oak, caramel, dried fruit and baking spice, and most añejos are made for sipping neat or over a large ice cube.
The range includes Don Julio 1942, Fortaleza Añejo, Tequila Ocho, El Tesoro and Azulejos, along with cask-finished releases such as the El Tesoro Laphroaig Edition and Tequila Ocho aged in Old Fitzgerald bourbon barrels.
