Razzouk Arak 750ml

Arak is the national spirit of Lebanon, and Razzouk has a special place in its history. In 1918, when arak was sold by itinerant dealers refilling bottles in the streets of Beirut, Razzouk became the first company to bottle arak under a brand name and sell it to the public. Its old motto: "The Prince of the Souk is Arak Razzouk."

Sweet mountain grapes are crushed, fermented and distilled over a low fire. Natural aniseed is then added and the spirit is distilled again, then rested in earthenware jars for at least six months to mellow. The result is crystal clear and turns milky white when water is added. Razzouk recommends serving it cool, mixed with water (about 30% arak to 70% water, or half and half) with an ice cube or two, before and during a meal of mezze.
