Dry Fly 3 Year Straight Triticale 750 ml

Dry Fly Distilling opened in Spokane, Washington in 2007, founded by Don Poffenroth and a friend after a fishing-trip conversation about sharing the spirit of the Northwest. The distillery works grain to glass, sourcing from family farms within 30 miles.

This straight whiskey is made from triticale, a wheat and rye hybrid developed in Scotland in the late 1800s. Dry Fly calls it the first whiskey of its kind, and the grain gives you rye's peppery boldness together with the softer refinement of wheat. It's aged three years in new 53-gallon American oak barrels and bottled at 90 proof.

It earned 96 points from Tasting Panel Magazine and a Gold Medal at Whiskies of the World, both in 2018. A great pick for anyone curious about grains beyond corn and rye.
